WHILE SERVING AS A JET MECHANIC FOR THE U.S. AIR FORCE IN THE 1980'S,

 

Michael Yolch quickly became captivated with the highly-detailed illustrations used in the aircraft maintenance manuals he used. At the end of his enlistment, he attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh for a foundation in the software knowledge required to pursue his new-found passion.

 

Upon graduation, Michael went to work for Informing Design where he supported the planning, mapping and illustration of nearly 2,300 wayfinding signs for the city of Pittsburgh. He then went on to one of America’s top design firms...Agnew, Moyer, Smith Inc. (currently ThoughtForm, Inc.) where he managed countless projects as a technical illustrator for more than 7 years. It was this highly influential period, while working with some of the nation’s largest clients alongside design guru Don Moyer, that the seeds were planted for what has become YOLCH Technical.
